Lilacs Inspiring Lilac Goat Milk Soap, Lilac Shea Butter Lotion, and Lilac Soy Candles

Scent Highlight: Lilac

Lilac Goat Milk Soap, Lilac Shea Butter Lotion, and Lilac Soy Candles

If you have been looking for the perfect, authentic lilac scented soap, lotion, or candles, look no further! Last week, our Lilac Shea Butter Lotion sold out at the Portsmouth Farmers Market in the first half hour. Not long after, we sold out of lilac goat milk soap. So, this week we are highlighting our incredibly popular lilac scent!

The Inspiration behind our Lilac Products

Basket of Lilac Flowers

Our scents are based on memories and stories and our lilac, whether its lilac goat milk soap, lilac soy candles, or lilac shea butter lotion, is no exception. We moved into our first house in Rollinsford in July, so it wasn’t until the next year that we were delighted by the light purple lilac blossoms on the mature bush at the corner of our garden shed. A few years later, tragedy struck when a large tree limb snapped above it during an ice storm and split the bush in two.

Most of what was broken off was still connected to the roots, even though it wasn’t enough to stand, so we strapped it to the garden shed with a ratchet strap and hoped that when spring came it would bloom again. It did!

That’s why lilacs are especially meaning for us. Not only are they the NH State flower and seen everywhere in our community, as well as being purple, the signature color of Joy Lane Farm, but for us, they also represent the ability of broken things to grow whole again, producing and blessing those around them.

If you’ve tried other lilac soap or lilac lotion, you know that sometimes lilac scented products have a very synthetic smell to them. Lilac goat milk soap isn’t like lavender goat milk soap, because the scent of lilacs can only be reproduced synthetically; it isn’t an essential oil (lavender essential oil is taken from lavender plants using steam distillation). The quality of lilac scent depends on the quality of the fragrance oil.

After over a decade of selling lilac products, the comment we’ve heard the most is, “Wow, this smells exactly like real lilacs!” NH natives with real lilacs all around us, we couldn’t be prouder.

Here’s our three most popular lilac products!

Lilac Goat Milk Soap

Lilac Goat Milk Soap

Our lilac goat milk soap is made with goat milk and olive oil, so it’s fabulous for dry sensitive skin. Why goat milk? The goat milk has vitamin A, moisture boosting fat molecules, and lactic acid! The best part though might be the authentic, lilac scent, which is so hard to find.

Lilac Goat Milk Soap Ingredients

Wondering what else is in it? These are the lilac goat milk soap ingredients:

Olive Oil (Olea Europaea), Goat Milk, Coconut Oil (Cocos Guineensis), Palm Oil (Elaeis Guineensis), Sodium Hydroxide, Fragrance Oil, Glycerin

Lilac Shea Butter Lotion

Lilac Shea Butter Lotion

Our Lilac Shea Butter lotion is made with shea butter, avocado oil, and apricot kernel oil. It’s thick, so a little bit goes a long way and makes a wonderful lilac hand lotion or lilac body lotion. It absorbs easily, isn’t greasy, and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. Plus, it’s paraben free.

Lilacs!!!

“My mother absolutely loved lilacs and she passed that love down to me. I finally found the only lilac scented product that actually smells like lilacs! Love this and will continue to buy this amazing lotion! My skin is soft as butter!”

-Dee

Lilac Shea Butter Lotion Ingredients

Here’s a list of the Lilac Shea Butter Lotion ingredients:

Water, Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii), Apricot Kernel Oil (Prunus Armeniaca), Avocado Oil (Persea Gratissima), Emulsifying Wax NF, Stearic Acid, Optiphen (Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol), Fragrance Oil

Lilac Soy Candle

Lilac Soy Candle

Our soy candles are made with a coconut and soy wax blend. We add a carefully measured amount of scent, enough to pleasantly fill a large open space, like a living room or kitchen, without overpowering it. Unlit, our candles still produce a pleasant scent, perfect for a small room, like a study or bathroom. They come in traditional glass apothecary jars with a glass cover to extinguish them without the smell of smoke and to preserve the scent when not in use.

Smells like my lilac bush

By far my favorite smelling candle. This lilac candle smells exactly like bringing fresh lilacs home and placing them in a vase on your counter. (This is without even lighting it!) I ordered two more after my fiancee brought it home one day! If you love the smell of lilacs you will not be disappointed by this candle. I haven't yet used the soap however it smells the same so I'm sure I will love it just as much! Will continue to purchase. Thank you for making such wonderful products!!!

-Stacey

Lilac Ceramic Soy Candle

We also make our lilac soy candles in a minalmist, nordic ceramic container as part of our Keramikk line!

Last Lilac Thoughts

It is such a delight to us when customers order lilac soap, lilac lotion, or lilac candles. Just the other day, a lady placed an order and let us know it was for her mom who absolutely loves lilacs. It’s a joy for us to be a small part of the memories you’re making and celebrating with your families.
